  1. I am so addicted to your book series of the elements! I wish I knew you had a fourth in the series or i would have read slower! Cant wait for June, terrible thing wishing your life away! Shows me what a great writer you are! I will certainly recommend to my friends! May even buy another for my friends collection!

    1. Ellen, thank you so much for the kind note! I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the Elemental Mysteries and I really hope you like the final book! Thanks for stopping by.

      Elizabeth

      1. No, no, no… The next book simply CAN NOT be the ‘final’ one!!!!!!! There are so many supporting characters and only a few thousand yrs of history left untapped for the series to end! It would be a travesty! :-!

I downloaded your first Elemental Series book a few months back because it had such good reviews… and it was free! 😉 Although, I didn’t actually start reading it right away as I was in the midst of reading another authors series at the time.

Once I did begin reading, I was a little confused as to why I had downloaded it to begin with. You see… I’m not normally into vampires! However, I decided to give it a go. So I started reading, but for the love of me I could not stay awake. (I have four children and a full time job! Life!)

Finally, I forced myself to stay awake through the first few pages and…

That was all she wrote!!! I was completely. And totally hooked! I downloaded everything book I could and read every time I found a moment to spare. My kids actually told me that my nose was always in my kindle!! Lol!! And just tonight, I actually told my husband that I felt lost now that I’d finished the series and that I needed more vampires!!! Who am I???? Lol!

All I know is this… You, Elizabeth Hunter, are an amazingly talented writer!!!! You have sucked me in to this vampire world and for the foreseeable future I don’t want to leave! Please, please keep writing about these characters! There are limitless stories to tell. No novella’s! Full length novels! Dierdra and Ioan, Tenzin… And the spark between Dierdra and… (The bar owner… whose name has escaped my brain atm… and whose name I know will come to me with complete clarity as soon as I post this), 😀 but there was definitely something between them!!

I just love these vampires and know that there is so much more left for you to share with us about these characters!!! So please do!

        Sincerely,

        Kat Barrow

      2. Hey, Kat! No worries, I’m still writing in the Elemental World, I just don’t foresee more books with Gio and Beatrice as *main* characters right now. But I’m currently working on the second Elemental World novel (the first, Building From Ashes, is already in stores, along with a novella, Waterlocked) and you’ll see lots of familiar faces and new storylines. 🙂 So glad you enjoyed the original series so much!

        Elizabeth

      3. Thx Elizabeth!! And yes… I really did enjoy thm! I’ve also already read both of the other books you mentioned!! I wish they weren’t so good!Maybe I’d of read slower. 😉 Lol!!! In fact, I haven’t picked my kindle up since finishing them.

I’m truly excited to see what u have in store for us next!

        Happy writing.

        Kat

      4. My reaction was the same as Kat’s when I saw the words ‘final book’ ! Sooooo glad to hear it won’t be the last we hear from that series, I have absolutely loved the characters and find it next to impossible to put the books down once I start!

I’ve just finished Scribe (again covet to cover in one go! ) and loved it, can’t wait for the next installment!

  2. Just wanted to let you know, I just downloaded “A Fall Of Water” . I’m so excited to read it. However I sort of don’t want to start it because I will not want to put it down.
I will let you know when I finish. It will probably take me a while because I don’t want it to end!
    Cheryl

  3. Elizabeth, thank you for overcoming any self doubts and writing such a well crafted and maddingly obsessive novel series. I and my 16 y/o son devoured The Elemental Mysteries series and I have been banging the drum for more readers to take this adventure. So refreshing to read not only a intriguing story, but an intelligent one as well. I look forward to reading more of your work. Brava Ms. Hunter!

  4. I just downloaded all of your books that available from amazon , I am going to have a problem at work for reading the books instead of working. I know that I won’t be able to put it down once I start reading, work or no work! LoL.

      1. You are a very clever and talented writer. I haven’t had a chance to sit uninterrupted to read a good book for so long. Your series on Gio and B were AWESOME! Thank you so much! I am just sad it’s over…I will just have to read them again. You should seriously consider making this a movie, or mini series….I would love to see this in film!

  5. i just finished A Fall of Water. It was amazing, in fact the whole series has been! I was also thrilled to learn of the next book to follow and wait impatiently for it to come out. i have recommended your writings to several of my fellow readers.

  6. I finished A Fall of Water about a week ago. What a wonderful finish to the series! It made me laugh and it made me cry. It also made me sad that the series is over. You are a wonderful writer and I will buy all your future books. Thank you for giving me many hours of great reading. Keep up the hard work, I see a great future ahead for you.

    1. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am looking forward to expanding the world and working on new projects. I’m so excited that you’re looking forward to my future work.

  7. Elizabeth,

I just finished A Fall of Water and OMG OMG OMG the best ever! I know I sound like a gushing fangirl, but I am. At several points I stopped and just said, “This is so. Good.” And, “OMG. THIS is so good.” The playboy vampire? Ben and Tenzin? The fight with Matt and B at the hospital? I can feel the relief when G and B find each other again and again. I believe in their love. I believe in their fight. And I’m down for more Carwyn! Yes, please!

Hugs! Great job, lady. I am pimping your books out to my friends now.

    Heather (aka BellaWriter7).

    1. You rock, Heather! I’m so glad you liked the book. What a great note to get on the very night I… wait for it…

Finished the first draft of Carwyn’s book! (You heard it here first.)

So excited for readers to dig into this world more. Thanks for any and all pimping!

      Elizabeth

      1. GASP! So excited!

OMG. I am rereading A Discovery of Witches and brought it with me to see some friends last night. We got to talking about vampire books and I said to everyone who would listen, “Oh you HAVE to read this series this woman I know wrote. They are SO GOOD.” So yes. Pimpage is ongoing. 🙂

So excited to read more about Carwyn. He’s such a joyous character. He deserves some lovin.

Thanks for writing these. Seriously. They make my life better. 🙂

        Heather

  8. I am so glad I was looking around on Amazon for something different to read on my Kindle. We just returned from vacation and while on vacation I have read 3 of the 4 Elemental books. Wow is such a poor word to describe your series! I couldn’t put them down! You certainly have a new fan in this reader!!

Thanks so much for your creativity!
    Teri

  9. I really hope that Tenzin gets her book she is one of my favorite character I will be waiting for it. These books were awesome read all 4 in 2 days!

    1. Doug, you rock! Thank you SO MUCH for the awesome review and for all your work spreading the word about the series. I truly have the best readers in the world. 😀

  10. Read all 4 books in the last 3 days – absolutely loved it. Can’t wait to read any future books related to the series. I thoroughly enjoyed your writing style and could not think of a single improvement to make on the characters or the story. Thank you for a good read 🙂

  11. Elizabeth, I am in love with your Elemental Series!! Your character development, plot, and the twists and turns just keep on coming. I have devoured the first two and well on my way into the 3rd. I want to slow down but simply can’t! That is when I know it’s a great book. Btw, I also loved The Genius and the Muse too…wonderful! I look forward to meeting you in Chicago in September.

      1. I just finished the 4th book today….WOW! I cannot wait to read the book about Carwyn’s story. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed your books. I was telling my husband about them during lunch today. Thank you for being such a great writer and sharing your talent with us.

  12. I just finished reading all four of the elemental mysteries! They were amazing. I finished all four in 2 days I just couldn’t stop. I am very excited for your next book it was So nice for me to find your books, I’ve avoided reading any paranormal romances because I figured they’d all be like twilight haha but your books had so much adventure and were thrilling to read (: thank you again for these amazing book and for having hidden fire for free on kindle if not for that i wouldnt have had the pleasure of reading all 4!! (:

  13. Well in my wanderings through the Web this morning I stumbled into Google Books which I had never visited and to my dismay there were NO reviews for The Elemental Mysteries so I posted my reviews for all 4 books to alleviate this travesty 🙂 I am not sure with all the other sources for books if that is used by a lot of people or not but thought it could not hurt since everybody uses Google in some form or fashion it seems.

  14. Are the elemental. Mysteries. On audio? I have read all 4 books and would love to hear it on my ipod….especially. GIO voice 😉

    1. They are not currently on audio, but that might be something that happens in the future. I have no idea who would voice them, but a sexy Italian would be ideal, no? 😉

  15. Dear Miss Hunter.
I´ve been a reader for almost 42 years in both English and Spanish languages. I am a 53 year old Mexican lady, with European background.
I´ve gone through almost all phases, interests and themes in reading, from the clasics and historical to the fantastic, erotic and scy-fi and I must congratulate you on an interesting, intriguing, sensual and very well written saga. In this day and age, when everything is about physical, rushing and hormonal love, specially in young adult books, I think your stories are surprisingly fantastic and enjoyable for both, young an mature adults and that your novels are a refreshing, back to basics and true feelings aproach to what a real selfless relationship should be. And the philosophical and ancient references are a plus.
Has there been any proposals as to make a movie out of your books?, because I think they would be a hit. And if there is ever the chance of it, please take in consideration the actor Henry Cavill for the part of Giovanni Vechio. (I have nothing to do with him). Just Google him and I am sure you can truly picture him in the part.
You have become one of my favorite writers and your books are, as they say “a sight for sore eyes”.
    Congratulations.
    M

  16. Your Elemental Mysteries are “mind grabbingly” absorbing and just wonderful. I too have a English degree, am 62 years old, and read way more than is probably good for me 🙂 I found the first of your books for free on Kindle and now I would honestly pay almost anything to continue with this series. I have just finished “The Same Earth” and ordered the 3rd book. Never much wanted the Kindle as I thought I would cry for the lack of holding a book in my hand, but to be honest, I have had the chance to read authors I never would have known of. Also, of course, the changing font is great for “elder” eyes, LOL. Seriously though, thank you sooooo very much for sharing your incredible imagination with us, and please, may you write many, many more books!!! And might I find Carwyn on my doorstep?????????

  17. I have just finished Book 4! I read the first three books in 3 days, then number 4 I took my time with, since it is the last book and I wanted to savor it. I love these characters and can’t wait to read Carwyn’s story! I hope that you will consider a book with Tenzin and Ben. It would be interesting to see who would be his sire–definitely not Tenzin, because there might be something there between them! Thank you for writing such wonderful books! I don’t normally like to spend more than $2.99 a kindle book but I was more than happy to buy your books. I’m one of those people who buy free kindle books, then get hooked into a series and end up buying all the rest of them!

  18. Thanks for the free promo on The Hidden Fire. I ran across it on Amazon and thought it sounded interesting, and LOVED i!. I immediately purchased the rest of them and devoured them. The only thing, dang it, now I’ve finished them. I look forward to Carwyn’s story though. He is so funny…I hope Brigid doesn’t make it too easy on him before she succumbs to his charm!

    1. Barbara, I so agree with you. I am in the process of purchasing them all…. but I am scared to continue reading!!!! what am I going to do when I am finished????!!!!
How can I have my cake and eat it too?
And Elizabeth, not only generous, but genious letting us have the first one for free… we all took the bait 😉

      1. Ha! You guys are making me laugh. I love your enthusiasm. And I’m working on Carwyn’s book this week, as a matter of fact. It’s almost ready for the editor.

But I do have other books out there! If you like contemporary romance, try The Genius and the Muse! You might like it.

  19. I want to share with you my “review” in my GoodReads.com account.

    A sight for sore eyes.
A well written paranormal, fantasy/romance/thriller/mystery/everything story, with a truly human approach.
If paranormal beings did exist this is the way they should be.
Since Anne Rice’s books, I haven’t enjoyed a series this much.
The sensual tension between the characters is mouth watering; and I say sensual because it is oh, so much more than sexual.
The mystery is very well paced so this is not a fast rushing or boring story. It is the kind that hypnotizes you and renders you incapable to put the book down and crave for more. You just can´t stop reading.
With other books I usually find myself skipping parts, where descriptions and details are just too much, too slow, unnecesary or too obvious.
In this book, I didn’t even want to miss a comma.
Well investigated, at some point it even makes you want to go back and read the ancient classics and improve your knowledge.
I loved the international set of characters and the mixture of cultures.
And specially, the approach to what real selfless love is.
And while it is set in this day and age, with all the modern criteria and advances in equality for all, it focuses on the main relationship values that should never change. Honor, respect and love.
And not just love between to beings; it is love of family, friends and everything that is worth caring for.
With the perfect balance between gender roles where they complement and acknowledge each other’s value, instead of competing or fighting for supremacy
This is a book that has the mature approach to love and life that usually only some mature adults come to grasp, which makes it a great book for young adults… And a refreshing “Sight for sore eyes” for us adults that hope to be mature some day.

      1. Dear Elizabeth, well deserved reviews and comments.
My Latinamerican friends are in urgent need for the Spanish version.
Is there one or is it going to be one?
        Mosha

  20. Omg love the elemental series…why aren’t these on the big screen?!! I connected so much more with these characters than the teen romance twilight series.

  21. Wow. I read all four Elemental Mysteries books in 3 days. There is so much that I want to say! As an avid reader and someone who wishes to publish one day, these books took my breath away. It’s very hard for me to find books that amaze me as these did. After I finished the last book last night, I contacted all of my fellow readers and babbled on and on about them!! As they are all major Twilight fans, I had to explain that your books are “the grown up, educated, and EXTREMELY well written version of twilight”! I have never (and I’ve read tens of thousands in my 23 years) read something that was written and transitioned so seamlessly! Nor have I gotten half as attached to characters as I did to B and Gio and the rest of the gang. I am absolutely waiting on pins and needles for the Elemental World series! There are so many characters that you’ve shaped to where their stories could easily be as amazing as Beatrice and Giovanni’s. And to that I congratulate and thank you. You truly are an absolutely fantastic author. I hope that one day I will be half the writer that you are (if only I could afford school as a single mom, haha!). Again, thank you Elizabeth! If you ever need an extra beta reader or someone to go over anything with a hypothetical red pen, please get in touch with me! Thank you!

  22. Any chance these will ever be movies? I think these are FAR better (and I don’t have to pretend I’m not reading teen books) than the other paranormal series out there right now. I want to scream from the rooftops how amazing these books are (so far only facebook and pinterest have let me scream out loud)! Looking forward to more books from this world.

    1. Thank you so much! I’ve been getting the movie question quite a bit lately. There are currently no plans in the works to adapt the Elemental Mysteries for film, but I do have a subsidiary rights agent who deals with all that, so who knows!

  23. Dear Ms. Hunter
I am very upset with you ! Because of your books I have lost sleep, ignored my family, contemplated calling out of work, not concentrated on my photography business and have stop eating(oh,wait no, that is actually a good thing lost a couple of pounds so yeah to your unintentional diet book plan). Your books are exceptional and a joy to read. They kept me completely intrigued and I could not put them down. Absolutely loved the lough out loud moments from your books. So looking forward to Carwyn’s story. Can’t wait to ignore my family again. Thanks!!!!

  24. I enjoyed reading the Elemental Mysteries series. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to your next book.

    From the Philippines, candy

  25. Hi,
I read all 4 in 3 days and am enamored with the story line and the characters. I especially loved the demise of Livia. Thank you for lifting this genre back up to one people that love reading can enjoy.( yes that was a not so subtle dig at the Twilight series)

    Kim

  26. I’m just about finished with book 3 and had to charge my kindle battery. So I decided to check out your web sites.

Elizabeth, or should I call you “E”? I was astonished to see your picture and have you look so much like what I had pictured “B” to look like! Are you sure you aren’t a vampire? (:

I’ve been enjoying your books so much. I can’t claim to be a speed reader like so many people are, but I have still gotten maximum aegis….Really love your writing!

  27. Elizabeth!! Awesome job on the Elemental series!! Just finished it and it was one of the best vampire series ive read!! Keep up the hard work and may God bless your writing!! Cant wait for October for the spin off!! Ben should be an interesting character to watch!! Good luck on all that you do and if you ever need help with typos I catch them all!! God bless you and your family!! Have a great day!!!

  28. Hi! Just a quick note to let you know how happy I was to discover your Elemental Mysteries series. I have been up for the past two nights with a sick toddler and your series kept me great company. I can’t stop raving about it, and three of my friends have already downloaded them and gotten hooked, too! Keep up the excellent writing!

  29. I don’t normally read books about vampires, but after downloading a free copy A Hidden Fire, I was hooked. Love your writing style and your character development. Can’t wait to read Building From Ashes.

  30. Loved the Elemental Mysteries series!! Can’t wait for October…beyond B and Gio, there are so many back stories that would make for great reading. Keep up the fantastic writing.

    1. I can’t stop listening to Snow patrol fire to the third bar. So haunting
      Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

  31. Thank you so much for a wonder saga. It was fun to read. I love powerful women stories. You have just t5he right blend of strength and dependance in your characters

  32. This was one of the best series I have read. I stopped reading the last book because I didn’t want the book to end. I just finished reading it and can’t wait for more to come out. Like everyone else I love the fact that u made the female characters in your books just as strong if not stronger than their male counterparts. I can’t wait to read more from you!

  33. Hi I’ve never been much of a reader but this series was just intoxicating.when I started reading the hidden fire I rediscovered how much fun reading can be.thank you so much and I look forward to ‘building from ashes’.

  34. Hi ms. Hunter, I super loved your books!! I read them in three days haha 🙂 talk about obsessive!! They were beautiful!! I know you probably have a story in mind for Ben and tenzin but I just wanted t throw in carina- dez’s daughter into their story. Dunno why but since Ben was protecting the mother, why not her too… Just a thought. It would be quite interesting what choices Ben would make 🙂 anyway, just wanted to thank you for the books they were wonderful!! Can’t wait for the next one! – Paula from the Philippines.

  35. Hi Elizabeth!

I just wanted to let you know that I am obsessed with your series. I have “Building from Ashes” on my calendar for October. I downloaded the first one for free on Amazon, and read the others within a week. As a recent college graduate (Secondary English Ed), and a current advocate for children’s literacy, I think it’s so cool that you are an independent author and publisher. I admire your creativity and drive.

If you are interested, I am hosting a Literacy Champions Gala in NYC for an educational nonprofit called The Parent-Child Home Program (www.parent-child.org). I would be more than happy to auction off a couple of your books, and include you in all of our press for the event (we expect to have 300+ high profile business executives who are extremely interested in literature).

Thank you, and I look forward to reading your books!!

  36. It’s 4 in the morning and I just finished reading the 4th book of the elemental series. Wow! I devoured these books! It is difficult to find a well-paced mystery/romance/fantasy written with intelligence, wit, and heart. I applaud your characters. I loved them! I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one who read all 4 books in 3 days while completely neglecting all my other responsibility. ies. Thank you for writing a book with compassion and values and strong core beliefs about life which was also highly entertaining and amusing. Those things don’t HAVE to be boring. I’ll definitely be pimpin’ this series! 😛

  37. Yet another one who lost sleep while reading this exceptional series 🙂 You are not the first nor will you be the last, I think I barely got any sleep the night I finished A Fall of Water.

  38. Just finished reading book 2 and immediately bought books 3 and 4 of the Elemental series.

Hurricane Sandy is due to hit tomorrow but i’m so riveted to the story of B and Jacopo.

Kudos to you on such an interesting series. I love it.

  39. Dear, dear Elizabeth! I just finished Building from Ashes! It is just as awesome as the others and I can not wait for the next edition! I felt the emotions that Carwyn and Brigid were going through all the way through the book. They, along with Gio and B, make such perfect companions. I am going to start from the very begining again so I can reread them all back to back. It is just like a movie you see the first time, you always catch more bits each time you watch, or in your/my case, read it again. THANK YOU! Beautiful job!!

  40. I just bought every one of your books from Amazon. Love love love them…you are my new favorite author ( and it takes a lot my me to say that).

  41. I have only read to the halfway point of the first of the Elemental Mysteries and I am hooked. Your writing flows so seemlessly, the words form clear pictures within my mind. Thank you for loving the written word and a good story. This winter will be spent delving into the worlds of your characters. Thank you.

  42. I read ALL the time I mean ALL the time! LOL! I am partial to historical romances mostly regency period but your books ROCK! I finished the whole elemental series in record time and just finished Building From Ashes and so loved it!! If you don’t write more to this series I just might have to cry!!! LOL! Thank you so much for giving me a paranormal romance I can belive in!!

  43. I love all your books this series was the best i’ve ever read i would love to hear more about Ben and tenzin and an adventure with gio &B and carwyn and brigid trying to stop the elixir

You are a very talented writer pls continue the elemental series truly a fan of ur jenyifer

  44. I have to leave a comment very much in the same vane as all of the others – I loved the whole series!

I’ve just finished reading “building from ashes” and feel like there is a gaping hole in my life now that can only be filled by the elements series! I download the first book for Kindle on a whim and fell completely in love. Congratulations on such a fantastic, interesting and believable story.

As a good welsh girl, I was thrilled to see some welsh in the latest book (i actually squealed in delight on the tube) and hope that you can add some more obscure welsh phrases in the next one.

thank you for brightening my daily commute – Can’t wait for the next book!

  45. Just finished the fourth book in the Elemental Mysteries series. Excellent! I can not say enough goods things about it. Your writing style drew me in from page one. Thank you, it was time well spent. Regards, Debbie

  46. Loved your Elemental Mysteries series and I just finished “Building from Ashes”. Please tell me there will be more Elemental World books!

  47. I don’t remember the last time I have become so attached to a character as I have to all of people who occupy the Elemental Mysteries series. Please keep them coming for visits. They have become family in the few short days in which I read the 4 books.
    Thank you so much!

  48. Bought the 5 elemental books for my Kindle, like them so much I am buying them as paperbacks to add to my library. It has been a while since books made me laugh and cry so much as yours. Thank you for a great read and a great escape.

  49. I love the first four books and was glad to be able to buy them all at the same time. I am really keen to buy Building from Ashes but before I do, I need to know if this book forms part of a series of the Carwyn’s story or this is the only book. I hate reading a good book and then having to wait [indefinitely] for the next book. Drives me absolutely nuts!

Also, why is the cover of “Hidden Fire” changed suddenly?

    1. Hey, you just caught me. Ashes is a stand-alone within the Elemental mysteries world. So you can read without worrying about a cliffhanger. I had to change the stock photo on the cover of Fire for licensing reasons. Sorry if there was any confusion!

Thanks for reading and I’m so glad you enjoyed the books, Elizabeth

      1. I have to tell you how much I love your books!! I have read The Elemental Mysteries twice. I screamed out loud when I realized that Ashes was available. I found you on my Kindle and did not hesitate to buy all of your books after reading the first one for free. I can’t wait for your next book.
Are Ben and Tenzin still bored??

  50. I devoured the Elemental Mysteries in 1 week. I am head over heels in love with Gio, but I just love how real and strong all of the characters are.I loved the bickering, the fighting, the laughter, the tenderness, the intensity.I cannot say enough wonderful things about it!

I’ve never been this attached to one character, much less all of them. Excited for the next series in this world.

Will we get to see more of Ben in the future? I loved him from the second he was introduced.

  51. I have just finished book four. It’s 2.30am and I really should be asleep but such is the way with this series of books.

From my earliest childhood I’ve had a fascination with vampires, one of my first books a Ladybird version of Dracula and a babysitter who loved Christopher Lee! It wasn’t until I discovered Anne Rice at the age of seventeen and her magnum opus that is The Vampire Chronicals that I truly fell in love with the genre.

I’ve read many works of vampire fiction since then hoping to recreate that feeling of really getting lost in a story, impatient for life’s daily rituals to be over, to curl up in a quiet place and immerse yourself in a truly great piece of writing, excited for the turn of the next page.

The Elemental Mysteries has restored my faith and you have a rare talent in an unfortunately over-saturated and over-commercialised market. I fell in love with Gio and B and feel quite bereft now that their story has concluded!

This is the first time I have left a comment for an author but these books are just quite simply brilliant. I look forward to the next chapter…

  52. I loved the Elemental Mysteries series. Your characters are so vibrant and rich in depth and breadth. I love how flawed, strong, smart and insecure they are. You wrote them so well, thank you. I loved all the smells referenced in the books. It made them come alive. Most books don’t give me the chance to smell while I read, it was delightful. Love the martial arts, love the world traveling, love the energy. Great work.

  53. I loved the Elemental Mysteries series. I read it twice back to back. Just the right amout of romance and action and mystery…Great Series… I just started Building from Ashes and I cant put it down..I am anxious to read some of you other work..

  54. I’ll be honest, I’m not a fan of paranormal romance books. I am however a big fan of modern or urban fantasy. I stumbled upon the free e-copy of A Hidden Fire while looking for a new (to me) author to try.
I read it in 2 days. I then bought and read the next 3 Elemental Mysteries books over the next 3 days and quickly downloaded and read Building From Ashes the day after that. Imagine my dismay upon learning Elemental Worlds Book 2 won’t be released until 2013!
I love that your stories are character driven. Everyone is so real, filled out and ‘alive’… even the ones who aren’t alive. Many authors do this with the main characters but every character you write from main and supporting to peripheral is fleshed out and vibrant. (The only exception being the throw away thugs which is understandable). I care about all the characters, which is remarkable.
Enough gushing and rambling from this old Marine. I’ll leave you with 2 things.
    1) my wife is chuckling and reading quotes to me right now as she reads A Hidden Fire. So thanks, we don’t normally read the same books.
    2) write faster! (Please?)

    1. Kevin, I just loved your note and forgive me for not responding earlier. Thank you so much! And I just love that you and your wife are enjoying the series together, that’s really a joy to hear.

And I’m writing away! Hope you check out the free novella in the Elemental World I’m posting over on my other website. The link should be at the top of this page.

      Thanks again, Elizabeth

  55. i love the books right now i’m on the second one and i can’t put it down but as a Latin student of three years i’m disheartened that you the letter j which wasn’t invented until about 500bc during the fall of Rome. the letter j was never used in latin.

    1. Hey Alyda! If you’re referring to the mass in Latin, it is Ecclesiastical Latin, in which J is used. Classical Latin does not use the letters J or V. 🙂

      Elizabeth

  56. You got me! I downloaded the free book and started it this week. (I don’t generally like vampire stuff but yours looked like it had more depth and might be fun.) I have purchased through Ashes…….. It has been what has made strep throat bearable! I enjoy the books — twists and turns, character development, pacing…. The package! I will be recommending your books and plan to read the rest. Thank you!

  57. Aside from college text books and work manuals I can probably count the number of books I’ve read for pleasure on my fingers. I’ve never been much of a reader and grew up sitting in front of the television. As a parent I wanted to be a better example for my children so I asked and received a Kindle last Christmas and began the arduous task of figuring out what kind of books I liked to read. After reading through different genres I eventually read a paranormal. Some were good and some I wish I stopped reading but once I start I feel obligated to finish. Then I downloaded A Hidden Fire and I was enthralled. I was immersed with the elemental series and fearing I read them too fast I read the series again! I love the characters, how they develop along with the story, how they grow or change, they have a lot of depth and realism with the way you write, which by the way I also love. My favorite Character is Carwyn…thank you so much for writing Building From Ashes, I just finished it last night. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Carwyn and Brigid’s journeys. I’m sure I’ll like reading the Waterlocked chapters next. I am so happy I found you and your books 🙂

    Lynn

    1. Dear Lynn, Notes like yours just make an author’s day! As a lifelong reader, there’s little more gratifying than really connecting with someone who is discovering the joy of books and learning more about what they like to read. I cannot tell you what a smile you put on my face. Thank you!

      Sincerely, Elizabeth

  58. I think I’ve only ever written one other fan letter- unless you count Shaun Cassidy when I was in 2nd grade- but every now and then you find pleasant surprises in this world and have to acknowledge them! That was what finding The Hidden Fire was for me! I was scoping Amazon’s free e-books and something about it said “try me!”. I sucked it down the first day as I have all the others since. Good for you, Elizabeth Hunter!! (BTW, middle school is MUCH better!) Thanks, and keep up the great writing!

    1. Sue, thank you so much! I really appreciate the fan letter, and I’m so glad you enjoyed the books! (And yes, elementary school is terrifying. I don’t know how teachers do it.)

      E

  59. I stumbled across your Elemental Mysteries series one Friday night. I called out that Monday so I could finish the series! Love your characters and emotion evoking plots!! Please continue to write as I am now a happily addicted fan!!!
The Genius and the Muse was refreshing and original.
Thank you for sharing your talent.
    Dori

  60. All I can say is WOW! I have just finished a fall of water and I now have that weird empty feeling you get after reading an amazing book where you get soooooo caught up in that you feel like your part of it. I think I need a gap before I start something else. Thank you so much for bringing gio and B to life reading will not be the same without them

      1. I didn’t go on to another author I needed more Elemental fix so am now reading Building from Ashes

  61. I’ve now read all 4 Elemental Mysteries on my kindle and am now reading Ashes. I have told everyone just how brilliant they are and much better than the Twilight series as much prefer Beatrice to Bella anyday!! The storylines were compelling and I read them all within a couple of weeks! Carwyn’s story now has me gripped and can’t wait for you to write some more PLEASE!! Thank you so much for making my reading so interesting!
    Kay

    1. Thanks, Kay! I just published a novella about Gemma and Terry called Waterlocked. You should be able to find the links on my ElementalMysteries.com site. Thanks for reading!

      E

  62. I am thoroughly enjoying your Elemental series books. The characters totally engross you. When I reread the scene with Gio taking Livia down I keep hearing Adele’s song Set Fire to the Rain. I look forward to reading more from the series and learning more about the characters that talk in your head. Thanks for the great reads!

  63. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for sharing your amazing talent. I,like many downloaded A Hidden Fire as it was free ( a brilliant way to discover new authors) and within a couple of chapters I was hooked. I believed in every single character and as is my way when I find a worthy writer I stepped out of my actual life and became immersed in the world of your characters you have so brilliantly created. Book 1 devoured I immediately downloaded every book with the intention of continuing the following day. Went to bed. Tried to fall asleep. Got up again. Started Book 2 , 3 hours later , book finished. Fell asleep. Woke up 2 hours later, started book 3……. Realised at this point that I may not be normal….hey ho. Thank you for making Carwyn Welsh, for the very clever mention of Patagonia and for setting Carwyn’s home in Snowdonia…. I can see Snowdon from my house and so felt a real affinity with the character. You captured the very essence of North Wales ( We never say Northern Wales ). I await your next…… Please don’t keep us waiting too long.x

  64. I’m not normally a paranormal romance reader. I bought book one of the Elemental series one night when I couldn’t sleep. And I didn’t actually manage to sleep that night, but I did finished the book!
I have been reading the series ever since, and tonight I have just finished Building From Ashes. Carwyn has been my favourite character from the start, it was so great to hear more about his world and his family. I am looking forward to the next book in the series, but until it arrives I really will miss the Elemental world and all it’s wonderful characters.

Thanks for a wonderful series, beautiful writing, and fantastic characters.

  65. I love love love the Elemental Mysteries! I had ordered Hidden Fire, because it was free. After reading it I went and ordered all the books (I prefer Books over Kindle). I hope you will bring Gio and B back! I would love to read way more on them!! I just ordered all of your other books, and can’t wait to start the next series! Love your writing. Thank you so much:)

  66. read all four elemental this week. awesome series. you are now on my must read list for vamps with J.R. Wards bdb. keep them coming.

  67. Many thanks for writing such fun and thought provoking books with the Elemental series. Have loved them all, the humour running through them makes me smile and the stories keep me hooked. Just please, lots more Carwyn 😀

  68. Your “Elemental” books are great. I read all four books (Gio & B) in a day. I laughed, cried, screamed, giggled while reading your books. I now have a new author to follow. Thanks

  69. I am not really a blog reader, I am however; an avid book reader and I’ve become hooked on your Elemental Mysteries as well as the Elemental World Series. Please let me know how I can get emails on your new releases. I’d hate to miss out!

    1. Thanks for asking, Debra! If you click on the sidebar link (the one to the right) that says “subscribe to our newsletter” that will take you to a form to sign up for my mailing list! That list is ONLY for new release info. No extra updates. So you won’t miss out on new books. Hope that helps!

      Elizabeth

  70. Ok, I never wanted to read a vampire story… so this was an accident. I got Hidden Fire for free from Amazon thinking it was a mystery story. It was and I was hooked. I bought all the other “elemental” books I could find and even pre-ordered Blood and Sand. It popped up on my kindle yesterday and I just finished it. Please tell me there are more coming. I am particularly hoping for a hook-up between Ten & Ben. What can I say…. there is just something special about eternal love.

    1. Oh, that would be telling, Susan. 😉 What I CAN tell you (if you check out my FAQ page, there’s a bit more) is that Ben and Tenzin will be main characters in their own series sometime in the future. What kind of series that will be is a secret.

So glad you enjoyed the books!

      Elizabeth

      1. So hoping Ben and Tenzin have a romance together in the future! I love each and every one of your books in both Elemental series. Thank you.

      1. Thanks. I’ll get over there and take a look. I realize Ben probably needs another 8 to 10 years, but what the heck maybe by then Natalie and Bao’s kids will be old enough she will be ready to take the plunge. Anyway since I’ve liked all the rest of these adventures, I ‘m sure to like whatever you see the future holding.

  71. I just finished blood and sand, amazing as always. See I figured there were feelings between Tenzin and Ben, but others see it too! You always surprise me with every book they get better and better, so happy the gang was in this book, I love then all.

  72. Greetings from Scotland! So I am an avid reader of free Kindle books and a sucker for a vampire book. So picked up A Hidden Fire and I was hooked. I now own all the Elemental Mysteries and was a tad disappointed to wait till 28th May for newest one as it was my birthday 4 days before and that would have been a great way to celebrate. So now all my kindle reading friends own all the Gio & B books and I have been recommending them to anyone looking for a book. Thanks for giving me a great world to escape too. Your characterisations are top notch. Didn’t expect Baoji to be the lead character in the latest book but it was fabulous as you wanted to know him better through the other books. Just read “Merry Christmas Tenzin”, it was lovely heart warming short. Keep up the good work.

  73. I have read all the books in the Elemental Mysteries and Elemental World….I just want to say that I enjoyed them immensely/I’ve been an avid reader for most of my life and I have to say that you are one of the most talented I’ve read. I love the series and would just like to through my two cents in and say that I truly hope that there are more to come in the series. I would love to see more from these characters, hint, hint – Tenzin and Benjamin!! I just finished Blood and Sand and I must say that I really loved the story. I was absolutely enthralled by their story. He seemed so much “MORE” in this book. And I as well loved the fact that all of the characters were in this one. Like Natalie said while watching practice “you’ve created a family”. I can’t wait for the next ones in the series. (Notice it’s plural? Hopefully there are several more.)

  74. I don’t consider myself a fan of the romance genre BUT (and a BIG BUT to boot) your Elemental series (both Mysteries & World) have totally enraptured me and has made me take notice of this genre! I am huge a horror, paranormal & mystery genre fan. So when I stumbled upon your Elemental series, the way you were able to meld my favorite genre(s) with romance…I am so very grateful you did. It has been years since I’ve read a book(s) that makes me yearn to get back to them, to get home from work to catch up on where I left off, that captivated me to the point of only having one to four hours of sleep because I just could not put the book down and/or needed to start the next! Your extreme talent and skills at including all the emotions we possess; joy, fear, sorry, anger, passion, romance, grief, laughter and many more in your writing is one of the many things that drew me into your stories. I, like I’m sure many others, hope we see more from this series; I would especially like to see what happens with Tenzin and Benjamin (either together or individually) as someone mentioned in a previous comment. In the meantime, I search the web and now follow this site to find more of your work and to see what adventure you take me on next. Thank you so much for being a reason to look at the romance genre for the paranormal, horror, mystery junkie! LOL!

  75. Based on your tweets, I see that you are in Israel now. Would love to hear your thoughts as I’m a current resident. I’ve also just become familiar with your books over the past month and have whizzed through the *entire* Elemental series as well as The Genius & The Muse. Hope you have a great visit here, and maybe find some material for a new book!

  76. Hello, what a beautiful series. i wish it was in hard bound so i can put it in my library. I am willing to purchase the paperbacks. Thank you for your gift

  77. I have read them all, including your bread crumbs to your new scribe series. I may have to re-read some again, just to stave off the hunger your writing creates. Your story-telling amnis comes across strong, even on a kindle where it surely should have fried mine many tens of hours ago. Keep writing and I will keep reading and trying to promote your wonderful, thought-provoking, and creative series to others. You have dignified the world of vampires … even to my wife who I had to beg to try them.

    Mesmerized by your worlds,
    John

  78. Hey! I love the Elemental Mystery series, Building from Ashes, and Shifting Dreams!! And I am sooo looking forward to Tenzin and Ben’s series!! I just know that it’s gonna be a new and fresh story with a different character, just like Building from Ashes and Shifting Dreams!!! I especially admire the fact that you said you wanted to broaden your writing and make new and different style in the way you write by writing The Scribe. Also, that just proves that once again you’re an amazing author!!!!

P.S. I just wanted to say that you are my role model! I’m only fourteen now but you inspire me to be an author, which is what I want to be. And the fact that you’re adventurous and you travel the world is just completely incredible! I love you, in a not creepy, weird way!!! And I have read your books about a thousand times now, but I still fangirl and cry and laugh so hard because of your words!! You are a marvelous author and I would really like to meet you in person!!

  79. Just finished the Genius and the Muse, which I must admit I left for last because I wasn’t sure I would like it. I absolutely love the elemental and shifter series and was afraid that this book would spoil them but I was completely wrong. While there is no paranormal anything in this book it flows beautifully and your character development does not disappoint. I love the dialogue, the way you switch from past to present, every detail you put in. Can’t wait for more, no matter what kind of story you put out next.

  80. As an old Alchemist I must say I have really enjoyed the first 3 novels and the chemistry you have portrayed through the elemental nature of the main charactors. The forces they represent are very evocative of these forces in our own natures. It’s not so much the story as the frequency of the story that stimulates my own musings on the search for the philosophers stone and the key it contains to our own behavior. Thank you.

  81. Agh! I’m trying to follow you on WordPress but because I’m on my phone it won’t work 😦 my blog on there is journal of my journey by geekwag. I will get on the comp tomorrow as I only have the books in kindle format and would loooooooooove a signed copy on my bookcase!

  82. Are you bak from your trip?
I Am at the hospital with my daughter and dont know if this is the right place to post for the signed books giveaway but I dont have my computer with me so I am just wishing I get lucky. If you are back from your awsome trip welcome… we miss you here and in Facebook. Please tell us all.
Besides your books the interaction you have with us your readers is so amazing that I bet even if you didnt write we would still will get in contact and follow you.
You make us feel welcome and so included in your projects as if we were long time friends.
    Thanks for that warmth.
    Crossing fingers I remain LOL
    Mosha

  83. How come I receive the comments in response to Welcome posts, but I don’t receive emails for new blog posts?

    1. Hmmmm. It could be you accidentally subscribed to the comments instead of the blog? The subscribe button for the blog is on the sidebar on the left, Deborah!

  84. Within the past month, I have read all your books, I could find on Amazon. I was so happy to find your works. Every single book of yours captured me in it’s world, enthralled, excited and entertained me with it’s characters and story you told. One thing just bugs me. Once I started one of your books, I couldn’t stop or put it down, because of that, I went through them in no time… now, what am I going to read! I am so spoiled from style of writing, that I am having a hard time finding another book that I enjoy as much as yours! Are there any more of your books coming out in the near future?

Thank you for those awesome Stories!

    Nadi

  85. I am on to book four, loving this series, i actually got the 1st book about a year ago, because it was free on my kindle and i love paranormal romance. Though i didnt read it until just last week. The cover of the book reminded me of a cheesy harloquin, “so shame on me, dont judge a book by its cover!” This is a fantstic series so glad i started reading it. Please think about changing the cover, to what i dont know, maybe something w/ books and the elements or just the elemnts. Your story is so creative, so i can imagine you could come up with something other then a hot torso. This has definite movie appeal. And if your ever approached, please stay true to your story and dont let some screen writer think they can do a better job (granted some scenes arent appropriate for all audiences, those can just be down played a bit and left to the viewers imagination). I just hate seeing great stories changed around because they think thats what the viewers want. Anyways, keep up the great writing, im reccomending you to all my book reading lovers.

  86. I don’t know what to say other than… I’M SO HOOKED. I have read all but the last 2 of the elemental series books in a week! A WEEK! lol You have a forever fan here. I’m buying and downloading books regularly which is new for me. Your series are the first books I’ve ever purchased online and read with my Kindle reader! It began with the first one which was free. LOL Hooked from day 1. Thank you 🙂

  87. Absolutly love this series! I have all the Elemental Mysteries and Elemental World! I just bought “Blood and Sand” today and can’t wait to get started. Please keep the series going…it’s nice to be able to loose myself in the world you have created. The characters are wonderful and so complex..not bland and textbook. I recommend your series to all my “bookaholic” gal pals and they had to buy all the books in the series after reading “A Hidden Fire”. I’m addicted…Thanks for these hours of forgetting about the outside world (stress, bills, everyday craziness) while I get lost in yours.

Can’t wait to see what is coming next.

  88. Re-read the elemental series to set myself up properly for ‘Building from Ashes’ and ‘Blood and Sand’. You are really an excellent writer!!! I’m filled with anticipation as I am about to start ‘Waterlocked’,
I would like to note some technical details and a faux pas: ‘Blood and Sand’ has a very large number of grammatical errors. Enough to make it difficult to read. I finally gave up trying to listen on my Kindle and just read it. That way I could stop, go back, and figure out what you were trying to say. This wasn’t a problem in earlier books.
In Book 4, Benjamin achieves 18 years of age. Then there is an epilogue add-on of ‘5 years later’ where Ben is now 23 and out of college. Then, in Blood and Sand, time has passed, This is Baojia’s story and I realize there may be overlaps in the time line with the elemental series. But, Baojia has been in LA for 3 years, Lucien has been in Africa for at least 2 years and Benjamin is still 18. Just sayin’.
By the way, I am REALLY looking forward to Tenzin and Benjamin’s story.

    1. The epilogue in A Fall of Water comes after Blood and Sand, chronologically, Charlene. And I’ll make sure to let my editor know about the large number of grammatical errors, since you’re the first one who’s mentioned that.

  89. I’ve absolutely loved both the Elemental Mysteries and Elemental World books. This did surprise me as I read the initial book as it was free on Kindle … then I couldn’t put them down. I am hanging in suspense waiting for Tenzin and Ben’s series of books (please get that pen moving and your wonderful writing mind working). I haven’t read any of your other books (just in case it spoils my experience). I can’t fault the books that I have read (Ok, I too noticed that Ben’s age was out of sync but hey it was just a minor blip in my experience). Please hurry hurry hurry and write more.

  90. Just wanted to thank you for all the amazing worlds and characters you have created. I love getting lost in all of them. I’ve read everything you have and can’t wait for the new series. I also want to thank you for the London Steampunk recommendation. Bec McMaster is great!! I appreciate all of your interaction with your fans. Thanks again and happy writing!

  91. When I initially left a comment I appear to have clicked on the -Notify me when new comments are added-
checkbox and now whenever a comment is added I get 4 emails with the exact
same comment. There has to be an easy method you are able
to remove me from that service? Thank you!

    1. I don’t actually think I can do that from my end. But if you look under the notifications when you get a comment, there SHOULD be a link to unsubscribe from the thread. So sorry about that!

  92. I’ve read all of the Elemental Mysteries and World books and loved them. Just read Shifting Dreams and loved it just as much. I can’t wait for more of each series. Thank you for creating such wonderful places to visit!

  93. Hii,

I absolutely love your writing! I started reading your fanfic a few years ago, was absolutely hooked and am now making my way through your original stories.

I was so sad to see your fanfic go but I was wondering if you’d mind sending me your butternut squash and jalapeño soup recipe from Growing New Vines? It was so good!

Thanks so much for sharing with us!

    A.

  94. Like a lot of people I downloaded the first book as it was free. I love mysteries, crime and romance novels so this seemed to fit the bill. I am NOT into vampires etc. but I was totally hooked by the end of chapter one!
I have just finished reading A Fall of Water and I am bereft to think that Gio and B will no longer be the main characters! You brought them to life for me. I want to be a vampire! Your writing is truly inspired…. I read endlessly and I get very irate at poor writing, ill thought out plots and so on. Nothing of the sort!! I love you 🙂
I am just about to download Building from Ashes so the housework will have to wait yet again.
Thank you, thank you, thank you x

  95. Yea!! More Elemental Mysteries- world to read please. I have had the pleasure of finding the series with all but one of books released . And am captivated by the world you’ve created and the stories it contains. You’ve made the list of authors I will hide out to increase my reading time for.

  96. Hello Elizabeth, please let us know if and when there will be a third book in the elemental world series…so addicted to them.

  97. Elizabeth, I don’t usually do this (write to authors and gush) but I have just finished your newest Irin Chronicles book in about two hours and OMG everything you touch is gold. the your mind of creative genius that created that world from a very simple concept is something I would dearly love to have, and if you ever come to Australia I will be a self proclaimed fan-girl.
The Genius and the Muse- perfect. as an artist myself for some reason that just captured everything about everything. just amazing
I have literally devoured everything you have written until now and told all my friends to read your books and I can’t wait to see what happens with the Irin.

    1. Thank you so very much and WOW, you’re a very fast reader!

I do hope I get down to Australia sometime for a signing and to meet readers. So many lovely readers from your neck of the woods.

      All the best, Elizabeth.

  98. Just finished “The Scribe” as well. I thought I would never read a book as compelling as “A Hidden Fire” but I was thankfully wrong. As to your writing schedule, please escalate.

  99. Hi Elizabeth, I LOVE your new book “The Scirbe”. I have read it twice already!! I can’t wait for your second book to come out. I guess in the meantime I will re-read the Elemental Mysteries, Keep up your fabulous writing.

  100. Really a fantastic story, great characters & the new spin is wonderful. Will look forward to future stories of any series. Many thanks you’ve kept my ereader stoked !

  101. I just finishedreading The Scribe. Yes, I know it is 3 am. I don ‘t know how I can wait until Spring for book 2! Wonderful writing again!

  102. I absolutely devoured The Scribe. It was fantastic and I am so glad that it will be a series as I can not wait to read more about them. It was the first time I finished a book, that while I was literally in tears, desperately wanted more. So thank you for writing an amazing book. You are on my auto buy list, and with this story have definately moved into my top 5 favourites authors.

  103. Hi I have just finished The Scribe, and have to say your writing is absolutely amazing. I was completely transported into this book as I have with all your other books and cannot wait for your next book. Once again a thoughly brilliant and enjoyable escape from reality. Loved it thank you.

  104. Scribe question – Ava ‘s dad – part Grigoli? He is a talented musician, gave Ava her name. When Ava was told about The Fallen she was told some children were born from human – grigoli unions, and they were usually talented and gifted. Just wondering………..(I have been reading the Scribe daily -obsessed like I was with El. Mysteries)

  105. Elizabeth: Every one of these comments is truth!! I picked up your first book in the Elemental Mysteries because it was free. I have never been into vampire stories and being the naivete, I though paranormal meant ghosts!! I have read your first 3 books of this series and you have hooked your wonderful fiction fangs deep into my soul. I have just downloaded the 4th book and already know I will be sad that this is the last. I look foward to reading your other works with great anticipation. Thank you SO much for your wonderful writings.

  106. Hi Elizabeth, I ‘found’ you just a few months ago and have now read every one of you books available on Kindle. I am halfway through The Genius and The Muse and I know I will be devastated when I have finished it. I am so addicted to your books that I find them totally unputdownable (is that a word?). I am looking forward to The Singer and Tenzin’s story and wish you could write a book every week LOL.

  107. I just read The Genius and the Muse as well and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed it…. It is just a great book and made me feel so happy for the characters and content and comfortable if that makes any sense at all. All your books are terrific, but this one is special I think. Thanks. Shannon

  108. The best author I have come across, the only problem the time we have to wait between books, I am 75% through the Scribe and would like to know when the next book will be released.

  109. Hi there,

I just got into your elemental mysteries series! I love you stories, I can hardly put them down. You should have your publisher work with booklamp (http://booklamp.org/index.php) so more people can be introduced to your wonderful books.

I can’t wait to read your others! Briana

  110. Please please tell me that there will be more of the elemental world to come?? I feel lost without this series! I absolutely loved the Irin chronicles too, it was so original and magical. I adore your writing, thank you for these new worlds 🙂

  111. Just finished your Elemental Mysteries series and LOVED each book! I’m a pretty harsh critic and don’t give praise lightly, but these books were fabulous! The characters were so believable, despite being vampires, the plot lines well crafted, I could go on and on. Rest assured, I will be reading all Elizabeth Hunter books from here on out. Thanks for the entertainment! Much appreciated. I’m off to read the first in the Elemental World series.

  112. HI E

I read the first one and was hooked (busy waiting for The Singer too, like millions of your other fans, no pressure 🙂 ) I would LOVE to have a signed copy of your book on my bookshelf (I only buy the hard copies of books I really love and so have very few physical books on my shelf, and treasure those I have like the treasures they truly are. I’m all the way in South Africa, and would be a very good ambassador for you (already are) – but we get so very few actual interaction with international writers over here it is actually a disgrace!

  113. Hi E,

Your ability to truly bring to life the world of Gio and B (and all the rest!) is mesmerizing. i have always been a book fanatic and, like others have mentioned, have taken the transition to kindle reading slowly and apprehensively. I am a book flipper, meaning I like to be able to flip back and forth in a story when things click all of a sudden. So hard to do that with my kindle but I understand the newer versions have tried to accommodate those who are like me. I am one of your fans who downloaded ‘A HIdden Fire’ for free from Amazon and for some reason didn’t realize it was about vampires either. I have never read the Twilight series but loved the older Anne Rice series and must say I am so incredibly thankful to have come across your books. Breathtaking, gripping, and so full of emotion – you had me from the start!!!! I read all four in the Elemental Series in about 5 days (didn’t sleep two nights!!! but so worth it) and am getting ready to get into the Elemental World books. So thrilled that I downloaded the whole set and was able to read Tenzin’s novella and your wonderful little shorts around the holidays. The Halloween conversation between you and the gang was just brilliant!! Thank you for making me laugh out loud and also for all the tears (cried soooo hard when B was turned because I felt how much it rocked Gio’s world). You have a die-hard fan who would willingly be turned in a heartbeat 🙂

    WOW!!!!!!

p.s. I am sure my little girls and hubby are quite thankful I am paying attention to them again…for now.

  114. Just finished the scribe, and have read all your other books as well, and I have to say they are all amazing, and very hard to put down. I was in tears at the end of the scribe, and that is a first for me. Keep up the good work, can`t wait for the next book

  115. Elizabeth, you are brilliant! I am such a fan of your works. You are a refreshing breath of literary fresh air and I can’t get enough of your books. Deb 🙂

  116. I got your first Elemental mystery series off of Amazon for free and decided to buy the second. When I finished the second I HAD TO buy the third! I am in the fourth book now and and in love with your writing! I absolutely love that the characters have made me laugh, cry and rage. I can not wait to see what else you have written. I have thoroughly enjoyed these books. Thank you for the wonderful escape ♥

  117. I have now read all of your books to date and waiting with bated breath for The Singer. I cried at the end of The Scribe, I felt so bereft! Once I start reading your books I can’t put you down so it’s a good job there is time between them for me to get the chores done around here :o)

  118. Wow is all I can say. I loved the elemental series and I love the scribe. Im not sure i can see after finishing the scribe…. One of only two paranormal authors I will read. Every book of each series is fantastic. Congratulations to you for another great book, you hooked me once again 🙂

  119. Awesome series. I wish you could expand the elemental mysteries a little more. How I will miss the characters when I am done with the last book. Of course I will continue to read all of your books. What an incredible writer you are. I have enjoyed each book from beginning to end.

  120. I LOVE this series. I have read every one available. The main four- I have even read twice. Any thought on Ben & Tenzen? I have recommended this series to several friends. It’s truly addicting. I envy your ability to write such an amazing series and want to thank you for sharing your talent. Brava!

  121. I have read all of the elemental series and I can’t wait for the next one . I just finished Tenzin’s book and I thought it was great. Please tell me you have started on another addition to this series. Until then great writing. Sincerely waiting patiently.

  122. I just wanted to say I stumbled onto “A hidden Fire” and fell inlove with beatrice and giovanni!! Their story was amazing, not perfect, struggles, and was beautifully told! I went on to read Carwyn’s story, Gemma and Terry’s, Boojia’s and now finally Tenzin’s. ALL were intense and amazing! My question is…. would you consider writing Lorenzo’s story?? We all know how it would end… But it would be nice to see where he came from… and how he became who he was. I can’t get enough of the Elemental mystery characters! Please don’t stop at Tenzin’s story! OR atleast give us another one of Tenzin’s! Her story with Giovanni when they worked together!

    1. I’ll be writing a lot more, Bernie, though I can’t say what exactly it will be. I kind if write when it hits me! But I do have a series planned for the future for Tenzin and Ben.

  123. Before writing anything more about whiskey, you might want to study scotch whisky. Otherwise, enjoying Hidden Fire.

  124. Elizabeth, I recently came across A Hidden Fire on Amazon. I’ve always enjoyed the world of vampires, werewolves, etc, so was intrigued to see the world from a ‘new’ perspective. I was NOT disappointed! Because of a physical disability, I have a lot of time on my hands, therefore I had the opportunity to just keep reading and reading and reading and reading…😁 I quickly made my way through the whole Elemental series and have now started making my way through Cambio Springs. I would SO love it if Carwyn, Gio, Beatrice, Tenzin, Ben & Baojia were to reappear!
I love how you write your characters, especially how strong your females are. It’s great that they don’t come across as unbelievably perfect, but they have their flaws and they continue to mature and strengthen as the books progress.
Thank you for your work and I look forward to what you bring us in the future! Keep up the excellent work

  125. Hi Elizabeth, I have read all that you have written so far and have pre-ordered The Singer. I am waiting with bated breath for it to appear on my Kindle. Since reading your books, I have read several other authors of paranormal books and your’s are the most memorable. Please don’t ever stop writing them :o)
    Jackie xx

  126. WOW !!! I love love love the elemental series. The development of the main characters relationships have made me smile and cry, I hope that this series continues to thrive. You, Elizabeth Hunter, are a very talented writer and I cannot wait to read more of your books

  127. Just finished all of the Elemental Series…amazing! Love the character formation. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Ben, as well as Baojia, Tenzin and the others…great plots and love love love the way you bring them all together again! Leaves me wanting more! Keep it up! Hoping this is one series that will keep growing!!!

  128. Hello, I am completely in love with your books! The book I’ve most recently read is The Scribe and I am looking forward to reading The Singer as soon as it’s released. Will there be an option to buy an Audible.com version of this series like there is for the Elemental Mysteries series?

  129. I loved your elemental series!!! I bought the whole series in one and was terribly sad when I was done as I didn’t want them to end. Your writing is very inspiring as I’m looking into doing developing a few stories myself… I love that the whole story was not overshadowed by the romance between B and G, and all events where very well developed and complemented each other. Finally, I love the trips to so many parts of the world and the historic references. I do look forward to see what you have in store for the elemental series/world and the many possibilities it has.

I will look into your other books as I’m already a fan of your writing and your amazing imagination!

  130. I just finished the singer……please tell me you are writing more?!?!?!? I’ve read everything you’ve written and its such great writing. Your characters speak to me of their courage, individuality…while still remaining human in foibles.
Love your work. Please MORE :).

      1. Thank you SO much for your incredible work and for your reply!! I will be waiting with bated breath for all of your new creations….Elementals and THE SECRET!!

  131. I fell in love with elemental mysteries, I am loving The Scribe and the Singer even more. Are you planning on releasing the elemental mysteries in a hardcover or paperback box set? When I love a series I like to put it on my wall in the box sets. I think both series would fit my collection perfectly!

  132. I just finished The Singer and can’t say enough how much I enjoyed it. I confess I put off reading the The Scribe for months after I got it on my Kindle because I wasn’t ready to leave Beatrice & Gio behind., But The Irin Chronicles are a wonderful and unique follow up to the Elemental books. I started The Singer the day after I finished The Scribe (the only benefit of waiting so long to read it was being able to pick up immediately with the second book). I’m thrilled to see that the 3rd book is due out by the end of this year. Thank you for creating such engaging and delightful characters and the world in which they exist.

  133. I have really enjoyed the Elemental Mysteries Series. But I am wondering if you are going to continue them. We never got to find out who was behind all of Elixer after Blood and Sand. Not to mention what happens to Ben. I just want to know if you will continue the series. I love reading them. Thanks!!

    1. Yes! Lots more planned in the Elemental world, I’ve just been taking a bit of a break so I don’t get burned out and I needed to work on my Irin series and Cambio Springs.

  134. I love all your books! I started with The Elemental World, but The Irin Chronicles are my current favorite. I can’t wait for The Singer to come out.

Thank you for such wonderful stories.

  135. Oh Elizabeth it’s so good to hear you are going to keep writing the Elemental World books. I WANT MORE!!! I have never liked vampire books, and quite frankly I’m so glad the review of A Hidden Fire never mentioned vampires, because I never would have purchased it, and I’m SO glad I did. I couldn’t put these books down. I have read everything at this point. I need to know if Natalie will ever turn, I want to know more about she and Baojia, and what happens to Ben, and will they ever figure out who is behind the spread of the “Elixer”. I’m salivating for the next book!!! In the meantime, I’m thinking of picking up The Irin Chronicles. Again, Thank You for such a fantastic series!!! You are a brilliant writer!!!

  136. Hi Elizabeth, I signed up the the VIP list a few weeks ago but never received the email confirmation link. I did it again today and still nothing. Is there a way to see if I’m already signed up?

  137. Elizabeth –

I have purchased and read your entire Elemental Mysteries/Elemental World series. However, it appears that Lost Letters and Christmas Lights is only available on Amazon and I have a Nook. I have been unable to locate it for purchase via any other website. Please help! Thank you.

    1. Hi, Janice! It will be on Nook eventually. Unfortunately, their system is not as fast as Amazon’s. But I’ll post the links for B&N when they are available. If you’d like to read right away, the Smashwords link is a great place to buy an ePub that you can read on your Nook! It’s the same kind of file. I hope that helps! I wish their system was faster, but I’ve had so many problems with them lately. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

  138. I have enjoyed all of your series. Basically, as soon as a new book comes out, I download it and start reading. I do have a question about Desert Bound, however. When Alex and Ted are at Old Quinn’s, the story mentions that Maggie was Sean’s sister and that Old Quinn was her great-uncle. Then, later in the book, it says that Sean was Old Quinn’s “oldest grandson.” Did I misinterpret the previous discussion about Sean and Maggie’s relationship? The disconnect (if there is one), didn’t detract from the story, but as a tech editor, it did catch my eye.

  139. Elizabeth, I’m watching “Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,” a movie that was released in 2013. It has VERY similar characters and items (their scribes are called shadowfighters; their shadowfighters inscribe symbols on their arms; music (particular Bach) destroys demons; the shadowfighters are supposed to be half angels as well). Is it LOOSELY based on your series? Although, it does say that it is based on the novel by Cassandra Clare.

  140. I have just discovered your books and I’m obsessed. I read all four of the elemental mysteries books in 8 days. At the end of the final book, I was so worried that Gio was not going to make it that I almost cried and began having a panic attack. I had to put the book down and take a deep breath before I finished it. I never wanted the books to end. I know that you said you wouldn’t write about Gio and B anymore, but I’d really like some more books written about them. They are definitely my favorite characters. Thanks for the great books!!!

  141. Hi Elizabeth… working on reading absolutely everything you have written. Thank you! Please change the colors on your menu… literally got a migraine trying to read it. On a positive note, you made me realize I may be borderline red/green color blind. 😉
HAVE to ask…. more Ben and Tenzin? May I have a date to dream about/long for hope to get MORE? Tentative dates are fine, I understand the creative muse and her joy in… keeping things interesting.
Again, thank you…. love your work. jen

  142. i see you dont realy reply anymore but whatever, im in love with ur books, and I just wanted to ask are you planing to do more parts of the Irin Chronicles? Love you xxx

    1. I try to go in every now and then and reply to a bunch at once, but you’re right, Nandina, I haven’t done so in a while. Thanks for your lovely note and yes! I do plan to write more in the Irin series. Thanks for asking.

  143. Just finished the Secret, having forced myself to go to bed, last night.

Scorching, fantastic, epic. I am so glad you’ll continue work in this place….

I’ve always loved language, people & places, but never get to go anywhere . Thanks to authors, my aching body doesn’t impede my travel.

    Keep it up. Excellent work!

  144. So Friday is my birthday and I can’t imagine any better present from you! I am absolutely looking forward to the release date!!!

  145. Heya….

I just wanted to drop in and say a HUGE thank you Elizabeth!!! It has been so long since I have been able sit and read and be captivated by any book..but once I started reading your work I couldn’t stop!! In the space of two weeks I have read The Elemental Mysteries series plus a few of the novellas and the Irin Chronicles …..keep writing girl!!!!! 🙂 I need more lol….. You have an amazing talent!!!!!

  146. I love your books and my friends would love them too but they don’t speak English. Is there any plans to publish your books in Spanish?

  147. Hello Elizabeth, will your new book The Scarlet Deep be made into an audiobook? And if so when will the release date be? I have been searching but have not found it. Because of my job I am not able to carry a book or reader of some sort but, I can listen with my phone and a set of Bluetooth ear buds. Sure makes the day go by quick. Totally hooked on your storylines, and character’s, keep them coming lady.

  148. I’m here trying to find out what comes after the Elemental Mysteries series! I couldn’t put any of the four books down and finished them in about a week! I loved Gio and Beatrice’s story and was really praying that there were more books to follow the other characters! Especially Carwyn and Ben!!! I very much enjoyed this series. The romance, action, sorrow, violence and family ties make this an unforgettable read! Thank you Elizabeth Hunter!!

    1. If you look on the page that says “Series Reading Order” (I don’t know how to put the link in a comment!) there is a listing of the stories in the Elemental World series, the first of which is Building From Ashes, Carwyn’s story! Thanks so much for asking, Christine.

      1. Thank you so much! Since I wrote the above comment, I have read everything up to Blood and Sand! Soooo addicted!! Haha! I think I have calluses on my thumbs from holding my phone! Love love love this series!!!

  149. I discovered your work via Bec McMaster. Thanks Bec. I read the Elemental Series and loved it. Just completed The Scribe and beginning The Singer this morning. I think Ava is daughter to Jaron. I’m usually wrong in these assessments. However, I cannot wait to find out. LOVE YOUR WORK! When you write them, I’m going to buy them.

  150. Hello Elizabeth, I just finished The Scribe series this afternoon. Thank you for letting me escape and travel to Istanbul, Vienna, France. Please do continue to write about the world of Irine, Irinas, Grigori, and Karshets. Maybe Leo and Kyra? I apologize for my assumption/wish. I love this one as much as the Elemental Mysteries–looking forward on reading Imitation and Alchemy! 🙂

    1. I agree about a book on Leo and Kyra. He’s such a fun character!! I loved all the books in the Irin Chronicles. I definitely want to go to Istanbul after reading them.

  151. So coming from an Eddings, Fiest, Salvatore and Gemmel background, finding myself with nothing to read i decided to give A Hidden Fire ago. Not my normal read and not something i expected to enjoy…… four books later and im hooked, what else can i say “more”
    ty 🙂

  152. Just finish Waking Hearts. You write a wonderful love story Elizabeth. Thank you. I found Cambio Springs and its shifter inhabitants a bit weird at first – says a lot for my mindset that I consider vampires normal – but I’m really, REALLY glad I persevered because the characters are truly charming.

  153. Thank you for writing this book. I’m hooked, i owned Elemental series, the whole character stories. I can’t wait to own this also…

  154. Elizabeth, your “voice” is outstanding! I’ve not only read all the Elemental series several times, I just finished the Irin series as well. After reading all the Elemental series, including every novella and both Cambio Springs Mysteries, I took a break and went on to other authors because I find that I tire of the authors “voice” as it can become excessively predictable in verbiage as well as plot. You, Elizabeth, have not disappointed me in either series. I can say that when I, once again, went looking for something of yours to read, before settling with the Irin Chronicles, I expected to find a book about Ben. Anyway, I have something to look forward to. Btw, I have never felt the urge to post anything to any other author, I just thought that there might be people out there like me who might miss out. 14 of your books and not disappointed. Thank you for sharing your gift.

  155. Please tell me there will be a new book coming soon!?!? I just finshed Shadows and Gold. When will Imitation & Alchemy be available? I love your books! I am so ready for another one to read. Great writing by the way!

  156. I enjoy your books Ms. Hunter. I read the Elemental Mysteries first and was enthralled. I then read the Irin Series…fantastic.
I just read On a Clear Winter Night, and given it’s the fourth in your Irin Series and the subject matter, I the think The Solstice would be a better title; another The S….
It struck me when I saw the list of titles in that series, all of which I read and thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you for sharing your gift.
    Anna

  157. I have read ALL of your books and must admit that you are my absolute favorite author. As I gush like an adolescent, I admit that I read everyday and I cannot find enough books that satisfy my desire for a good story. Too many authors take the easy route of too much explicit sex and sappy dialogue. I have nothing against a beautiful sex scene but not every chapter! It is obvious you do research and posses an avid imagination – thank you for giving me me good fictional books to read!

    1. I completely agree, I also am an avid reader (probably a book a day). I am in absolute awe of of Ms. Hunter and her talent.
